How does it work?
We are available to travel to your chosen venue and deliver workshops for your residents, clients, or community groups in your area.
Our fee is per workshop and the exact cost depends upon required travel time, packages for multiple workshops are available.
You need to choose and book the venue, promote the workshop through your networks and manage the registration of participants. You may offer these workshops for each person free of charge, or charge a fee per person which you collect and retain, as determined by you.

Events
Cooking Demonstrations
I can deliver cooking demonstrations at community events, indoor or outdoor markets and shopping centres.
Cooking demonstrations are a terrific way to draw a crowd together and learn how to prepare a new dish, with bonus free samples handed out to finish off the demonstration.
With experience in public speaking and facilitating workshops, it’s fun and easy for me to chat with complete strangers and talk about food whilst I cook.
I provide all the equipment, recipes, ingredients and welcome the chance to chat with you about any ideas, recipes or themes that you might like to incorporate for your cooking demonstration.
Community Garden Bus Trips
Since 2016 I have coordinated annual community garden bus trips with resounding success. Visiting a selection of different gardens, participants can meet volunteers and hear about the development of their garden, their stories of successes and challenges.
These days outings are a fabulous way to re-invigorate and reward a group of volunteers from an established community garden, or inspire a group of locals advocating to start their own community garden.
I can organise a day out visiting a selection of community gardens for groups up to 25 people.
The day out includes:
- Bus hire and driver
- Facilitator on board to coordinate the trip
- Morning tea & lunch
- Feedback form
- Report on the activity and feedback from participants.
Team Building Cooking Activity
Enhance the cohesion amongst your team by having your staff try their hand at working together to cook and share a meal together.
Suitable for all adults, regardless of cooking ability, this 3 hour team building session involves a 1 hour workshop followed by team members working in groups of 2 or 3 to create a range of quick healthy delicious dishes to be shared for lunch or dinner.
Location: any inside or outside undercover area with access to tables, chairs and running water (preferably a sink)
All resources, recipes, cooking equipment and ingredients are provided.
Community Events
I am available to join your team as an event coordinator to fill any shortfalls in your event or project team.
With 5+ years experience working in the events industry, I have organised events ranging in size from small to medium size events, the Mandurah Community Gardens Open Day and Peel Harvey Catchment Council Wetlands Weekender (2020, 2021) to coordinating major events such as the City of Rockingham’s Symphony on the Green (2021), The Rockingham Lions Community Fair (2021 – 2023) and the Catalpa Adventure Festival (2023) for over 6,000 attendees.
Having a sound background in managing budgets and meeting contract obligations, I am willing to organise an event for you, or work as part of your team to deliver a successful, safe and family friendly event.
Consulting
Establish a community garden
In 2010, I worked with 7 different community garden groups in the South West of W.A, to help establish or grow their community garden. Using the knowledge gained from this role, and also my experience as a member of the Mandurah Community Garden, I have been engaged as a consultant to assist with the establishment of the Lakelands Community Gardens Inc and the Golden Bay Community Garden.
To do this, I can facilitate community engagement sessions, brainstorming workshops, strategic planning for community groups, and organise a bus trip to other community gardens to learn from and be inspired by their stories and progress.
I also have experience working with groups in the early stages of development to form an action group or working group to guide them to become an incorporated body or association
Nutrition Consulting
I have consulted on health and wellbeing policies in local government, undertaken a review of the City of Mandurah’s catering facilities and provided input into the development of the City of Mandurah’s Public Health Plan.
I have experience working with the various departments in local government, e.g Environmental Health, Community Development and Sport and Recreation to implement healthier workplace initiatives.
