School Holiday Program

Cooking sessions for kids to include in your school holiday program.

Include a fun, hands-on cooking incursion in your school holiday program

I can come to your venue and facilitate fun Nutrition activities, games and a cooking session for the children enrolled in your school holiday program.

Session length and content can be tailored to suit your timetable, I can deliver sessions from 1 hour to 2½ hours for up to 28 children.

    What we provide

    Trained, professional, friendly facilitator.

    Facilitator (Nicole) has the following current certificates/ registrations:

    • Qualified Nutritionist B.Sc Nutrition
    • Registered Public Health Nutritionist RPHNutr.
    • Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
    • Working with Children Check
      Current first Aid: Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting
    • National Police clearance
      Public Liability insurance

    All cooking equipment for up to 28 students per session.

    All cooking ingredients for up to 6 different recipes

    Copies of recipes cooked on the day.

    Nutrition related prizes for best behaviour and team work in cooking session.

    A clean and tidy venue after each incursion.

    What you provide & need to do

    Large space or room with sinks nearby. Need 3 power points and 7+ large tables/desks.

    Schedule a morning and/or an afternoon session as children will be cooking a range of recipes which they can eat samples of each for lunch.

    Incursions can include discussion, activities and games about healthy eating, treasure hunt, storytime. Content and length of educational components can be adjusted to suit.

    Cooking activity needs 1.5 hours for children to complete the following:

    • Washing hands
    • Knife skills demonstration (child safe knives are provided and used)
    • Knife safety rules
    • Cook a range of recipes (in groups of 4)
    • Wash up dishes (supervised)
    • Eat from the buffet of recipes created by all children.

    Provide 2 support staff to assist and supervise children to assist with behaviour management if needed.

    Collect information on any children with food allergies and provide to the facilitator 1 week prior.

    No nuts are used in any recipes. Children with other allergies e.g. eggs, gluten, seafood can be catered for.
